i acxtually found that my husband was a robbed or jacked image he actually hada pic buit i removed it hesnever on , however i found his profile in Brazial, portugal and ct. andt wasntpretty, i didnt know he traveled so much must be why he is late to dinner…lol… notso funny his very own best pal isheone who did it, report these to FBI as thy are considered tearest thrteats tyhankx, lets keep net crime down so we csan have ur fun. BLOCK ANYONE WHO TRYS TO ACCESS U BY A BLOCK , IT NEEDS TO BE REPORTED AS A FAKE PROFILE AND IOF WE ARE O WANTTO DATE THENWE WOULD BE ON A DATING WEB LIKEGO TO ADULT FINDER.COM TEY HAVETHAT CRAP THERE TIS I FAMILY FUN

Thanks for the great tip, “Goto Settings- Privacy- News Feed and wall- Facebook Ads- Appearance in Facebook Ads- Select No One” I don’t know if I had already done this, but when I checked, it already said “No one.”

By the way, Anon, @doh, Ad-block only blocks you from seeing an ad and misses the point – unless you block it, FB and advertisers can use your photos in ads of their choosing.

The greatest benefit of Facebook is that it has many groups on the site that you can join. So if you are interested in Chicago Cubs you can research Chicago Cubs in the groups section and you will be able to find friends on there that like the Cubs. This is just one example, I know that you can join groups of your favorite football team, television show, or whatever you want for the most part! Interesting enough, I actually did find a photo of myself in an ad on a page separate from Facebook once. Did some sleuthing and found a cookie from an ad company with my fb user id# inside it. Turns out, some of those ads inside facebook apps (not apps made by facebook) set that cookie with your user id. Then, when you visit a page outside facebook that uses the same ad company, they can check that cookie, grab that little thumbnail of your profile pic (which they no doubt cached on their server), and serve up an ad with your own picture inside it on an ad outside of facebook.

I don’t know why they would want to do that anyway. It really crept me out when I saw it, and definitely kept me from ever even considering clicking on the ad.

I had the same problem in FF that the page was blank. Temporarily disable Ad Block, and it will show up. I’m assuming the path has /ads/ in it, so ABP will block it.

Yeah I went to http://www.facebook.com/privacy/?view=feeds&tab=ads
and it is blank – no option to turn off this setting.

I am using Firefox.

I’m getting tired of hunting down obscure privacy settings and blocking stupid people and quizzes.
