Goolge Voice Web App To Bypass iPhone Approval Reqs

Last month iPhone rejected Google Voice app from its App Store which forced the FCC to intervene. Now according to reports from New york times, Google is working on an iPhone web app version of Google Voice which will not have to go through the iPhone approval process.

According to New York Times:

“Google says it is readying a replacement for the Google Voice app that will offer exactly the same features as the rejected app—except that it will take the form of a specialized, iPhone-shaped Web page. For all intents and purposes, it will behave exactly the same as the app would have; you can even install it as an icon on your Home screen.”

However, the problem with an iPhone web app is that, it will reduce the functionality as it won’t have the Push Notification feature which could have been useful for features like SMS.

This will come as one more reason to Jailbreak your iPhone as it will bypass the iPhone approval process. You can read our post on 5 Good Reasons To Jailbreak Your iPhone.

As Google is famous for coming up with best web application, the coming Google Voice web app may work better than expected.
