Sony’s new line of Alpha DSLRs appear to have fallen short of their expected launch date of 28 August, after three new models have found their way on to the internet.
German site digitalkamera.de has outed both the Sony a850 and a500 after a tip off, the former set to be a small full-frame entry level DSLR with 24.6 megapixels, 3-inch screen and a shooting speed of 3fps, and the latter a cheaper option with 12.3 megapixels, Live View and a faster shooting speed of 5fps. Nikon has announced the launch of the D3000 digital SLR, joining the DX range of cameras as a new entry-level model.

Aimed at newcomers to the DSLR market, the D3000 is targeting those trading-up from a compact camera, offering Nikon’s a Guide setting on the dial, that like the Canon 500D, will lead amateurs through the settings to help achieve their creative aims.

Around the back you’ll find a 3-inch 230k-dot screen, whilst inside is a 10.2-effective megapixel sensor backed by Nikon’s EXPEED image processing system. Continue reading…
