O2 sits on fence about iPhone unlocking

o2

It seems O2 is throwing its toys out of the iPhone pram, and is sitting on the fence as to whether it will provide users with iPhone unlock codes to move to other networks.

Previously the network had refused to unlock handsets based on the grounds that it had an exclusive deal with Apple. Now that deal has come to an end, it seems O2 isn’t too sure if it wants to allow its iPhone users to jump ship. Continue reading…

Updated Facebook iPhone app hits App Store

iPhone-Facebook-Application

We heard about the new Facebook 3.0 iPhone update a few weeks ago, and after Apple taking its time in approving it, it’s now available from the App Store.
Even better news is that the app is now even better than the first one that was submitted.

Apple patent hints at iPhone in-call messaging

iPhone 3G S

Another Apple patent is doing the rounds showing ideas for a user to send texts, emails and documents while still on another callThe iPhone 3G S has only been out a few months, but patents uncovered this week have given us a sneak peek at Apple’s ideas for future handsets.

First filed in February 2008, the patent called “Auto Messaging to Currently Connected Caller” details a way for a user to send texts, emails and documents to a person while on the phone to them.

Apple described a scenario such as a conference call, and having the ability to send a document to all the people currently on the call without having the hang up first.

The free application, obviously named Wikipedia Mobile, is not the first Wikipedia app in the iTunes App Store but it is the first to be officially sanctioned.

The Wikimedia Foundation which oversees Wikipedia says the app is easier to use than having to jump in to Safari to flick through pages. It’s killer feature is keeping your searched pages saved to refer back to. Continue reading…
