Windows 7 has yet to even be released officially to the general public, and already the dodgy folk on the Internet have fully cracked and activated the Ultimate version, with help from a leaked Lenovo OEM DVD .ISO file.

The news comes from various Chinese forums who state that you can already pass Windows Genuine Advantage validation offline, OEM style.

The leaked .ISO was originally posted on a Chinese forum, which was then downloaded in order for people to get hold of the boot.wim, and in turn retrieving the OEM-SLP key, plus the OEM activation certificate. Microsoft uses the same digitally signed OEM certificate, which has an .xrm-ms extension, as that in

Five Essential Tips for Editing the Windows Registry

Editing the Windows Registry has the potential to improve your system’s performance, but making a mistake can destroy Windows and cause you great distress. Here are five tips for keeping yourself anxiety-free—and for keeping your PC alive.

Windows Mobile 6.5

A panel of design experts at Microsoft has admitted that the Windows mobile 6.5 interface will be as complete as they would have liked. The comment was made by Senior Product Manager Loke Uei tan at Microsoft’s TechEd 2009 conference. According to Tan, the design team has not had enough time to work on the user interface, resulting in the omission of several features that were slated to be included and a confused interface that the team is not completely happy with. the panel also confirmed that Microsoft’s Silverlight media delivery platform will not be a part of Windows Mobile 6.5, but exact reasons for this were not discussed. Marketplace, the long-expected on-device applications store was also discussed. Users will be able to browse the store and either download applications directly through their handsets or browse the store using a PC and have the applications delivered to the phone, depending on the country and carrier support. Users will be able to pay via a credit card account or by having charges added to their mobile bills.
